Hi all From the docs I understand that when a query is processed, overrides are applied first and then synonyms. At which point does stemming enhance the query ?

Hi Shiva, Stemming is applied even before synonyms and override, at tokenization level. Then overrides, synonyms, then stemming of synonyms.
