But Discord also feels very gimmicky IMO, and still very gamer focussed than a general community IM software. For eg, I wonder if everyone would feel comfortable installing Discord on their work computers, where they might be logged into all their casual Discord servers.

09/12/2023, 2:56 AMthat's fair. my issue with slack is the 10k message limit on free plans, and I don't think they support a paid plan that accepts "community" guest users, unless things have changed
