Hello! I'm investigating maybe increasing the

max_candidates

value on some of our searches to show more results to our users for searches that are shorter (like

pa

or

ab

). I know it can impact performance, so I was wondering if there are any recommendations around what a safe/good number for it might be? We have around 3.5+ million records in the collection I am looking to use it on. I can share some of our infra specs as well if that is helpful? Or is there a guide somewhere in the docs that I could maybe reference or use to help determine it maybe? Any recommendations you can give or guides would be appreciated 🙏🏻

This is too broad of a question to answer unfortunately. Best way would be to benchmark it and see how performance is for your specific dataset
